Named after the intersection high atop the hill on Vine Street, residents of Hi ViNE Apartments can enjoy the elevated view at the heart of Purdue University’s retail and entertainment district. The family-run business at Weida Apartments had a long-term goal to develop the city block that their previous office resided. With assistance from KJG, the planned development for Hi ViNE went smoothly and both Weida and the City of West Lafayette were pleased with the project. KJG also assisted Weida with construction administration as they led the role of the general contractor. Hi ViNE’s design blends traditional brick elements and modern metal facade in consistency with Purdue’s adjacent architecture. The project also utilized a combination of precast concrete for the parking deck in conjunction with traditional steel and wood framing to help maximize the time allowed for other trades during construction.
