Back in 2017, the Lafayette Family YMCA broke ground on a new two-story, 120,000 square foot facility with the hope of creating a new space for healthy living and community development. In collaboration with several local project partners including Franciscan Health, Junior Achievement, Ivy Tech Community College, and IU Health, the new building houses a collaborative space where relationships can be fostered across several disciplines and age groups. The new YMCA includes a state of the art natatorium, gymnasium with 3 basketball courts, suspended indoor running track, expansive Wellness Center, locker rooms, multi-generational space, a teaching kitchen, administrative offices, and future expansion space. Also, the building features a licensed daycare facility, out-patient medical clinic, and business education space in conjunction with Junior Achievement. But, most importantly it is a place where people of all ages can come together within the community and be more involved in various activities to help foster the next generation of caring, honest, responsible and respectful individuals.
